Spear Hydro is an innovative floating hydroelectric power plant that uses fins fixed under the boat to generate energy. The innovation is the setting of the drive blades, which are oriented differently than classic blades and are thus more efficient than classic turbines, but above all more ecological, as they do not endanger life in the water. The technology, which is able to generate more than 190 kW, supports the sustainable development of cities.
The project tested the applicability of this technology on different types of water flows so that it can be improved according to the force of water flow. Based on data obtained during the project, the company has developed a new prototype of SPEAR Hydro solution called AGIS suitable for slower flowing water streams.
