The project tackled challenges faced by museums, including limited exhibition space, expensive hardware, and complex IT tools that prevent effective museum content communication. A QR-based platform was developed and implemented for the Museum of Genocide in Sarajevo, enabling the digitalization of its exhibitions. This solution provided visitors and professionals with easy access to the museum’s content through user-friendly QR codes and multimedia guides.
This digital solution significantly enriched the visitor experience and improved content accessibility, particularly for international audiences, by making the museum content easily accessible in multiple languages. The museum now benefits from a versatile digital tool that allows for more efficient and flexible content management and updates. Additionally, the system enhances operational efficiency by automating certain tasks, freeing up staff to focus on other essential museum activities.
The QR platform, with its multilingual functionality, is anticipated to attract a broader international and younger audience while enhancing visitors’ experience and boosting audience engagement. Developed digital platform offers various possibilities of further usage of digital content and other museums may get inspired in reaching more visitors while improving their content management system and reducing operational costs.
