The project explored the potential of virtual power plants (VPPs) in Serbia. VPPs are small energy communities that generate electricity from renewable energy sources. By implementing VPP, AI is used to measure and predict energy production and consumption inside the virtual group. The project emphasized both the economic and environmental benefits of integrating virtual power plants and confirmed their potential to stabilize the electricity transmission network.

The key requirement for their implementation is adjustments in the legal and commercial framework. Planned regulatory advancements are set to provide long-term support for VPP integration. As new market participants and competition emerge, the scalability of VPPs will increase.
